Course Description: |
This
course is designed to help students with various levels of computer experience
from the novice to the experienced, increase their knowledge of the Windows
operating system. Also increase the students knowledge and abilities to
use the mouse, desktop, Windows help, and Windows explorer to manage,
move, copy, and delete files as necessary in the management of their
computers. |

Student Expectations: |
Upon successful
completion of this course, the student will be able to
Ø Start and use application
in Windows Ø Create and manage folders
in Windows Ø Create and utilize short
cuts in Windows Ø Use the Help function to
get information in Windows Ø Use the mouse to perform
task in Windows Ø Work with windows (Resize,
minimize, maximize, and restore) in Windows Ø Use the task bar to work
with multiple application in Windows Ø Use and work with menus
and dialog boxes. Ø Use System tools Ø Format and Copy floppy
disks Ø Create and manage folders Ø Use Windows Explorer to
manage different types of files Ø Change resolution and
colors used by a monitor Ø Change the appearance to
the Desk Top Ø Create and save a file Ø Open and edit a file |

A lab/supplies card,
purchased from the college bookstore is also required for use of the West Valley
College Technology Center. Please type all assignments, and include your name, class, and page number of assignment. |

Grading Policy: |
This is a Credit / No Credit Class. Grades will be reported as Credit / No Credit. To receive Credit, you must earn a least 70% of the total points on exercises quizzes, and attend regularly; you may not miss more than two classes. If you need to drop the course, it is your responsibility to do so. |
